Telephone Connection Services

As of February 2005, Faculty Computing is responsible for connecting existing telephone extensions in the Arts building to designated ports in the offices. From May 2006 this service is also available within the Social Sciences building.

If a staff member moves offices within the Arts or the Scoial Sciences buildings and would like to retain their telephone extension, they must arrange the transfer of the extension with Faculty Computing by emailing a request to the help desk at ithelp-fahss@uwa.edu.au.

If a staff member is moving between buildings and would like to keep their telephone extension, Faculty Computing must also be notified to assist in the transfer and update relevant documentation.

The physical telephone handset must travel with the staff member to the new location.

Faculty Computing is NOT responsible for the following:

Configuring telephone features (e.g. forwarding, diverting, etc.)
Message services
Upgrading telephones
Ordering new telephone extensions (e.g. for new staff)
Telephone setup (e.g. altering dialing restrictions)

The above telephone services can still be arranged through the University Switchboard (extension 99).
